ABA

What is ABA?

Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) is a scientific approach to understanding behaviour. It refers to a set of principles that focus on how behaviours change or are affected by the environment.

ABA therapy refers to a set of strategies and interventions that focus on improving behaviours such as communication and language skills, social skills, adaptive skills, self – help skills, and academic skills.  It also aims to reduce undesired behaviours that are challenging or harmful like self- injurious behaviours and property destruction.

We use ABA interventions and strategies that are ethical and evidence based promoting long life skills that produce long lasting change and positive outcomes.

Services Provided

ABA is not a “one-size-fits-all” solution, but one that is designed to help with your child’s individual unique needs and goals.

Our trained ABA professionals have experience supporting children with SEND in schools, in homes and in the community. We value partnership working with parents and other professionals in order to support your child’s learning and wellbeing.

We have experiences dealing with problem behaviours related to self- stimulation, eating, toileting, communication, social interactions, play skills, tantrums, and academic skills.

Included in your ABA package are:

Assessments

This includes a face-to-face assessment with a Clinical Behaviour Consultant (120 minutes) to measure your child’s performance across the following common skill areas: social interaction; self-help; verbal communication and language; vocal behaviour; maths; motor imitation skills; visual perception; reading; listener responding, independent play; and matching to sample.

Assessment Report and Support Plan

The report and plan highlights findings from the assessment to help identify teaching goals based on your child’s individual needs. It can include guidelines to support any problem behaviours that have been observed during the assessment.

Face-to-Face Clinical Workshops

This includes monthly workshops with a Consultant, an ABA tutor and with supporting parents and/or caregivers to check and monitor progress.
